FOOD TALK

Your growing needs, and think about food for the big day

FILL UP FOR THE HOME STRETCH

You may be finding it hard to eat large quantities of food now that your baby is taking up so much room, but your nutritional needs have never been so high.
You and your baby are stocking up energy and nutrients to see you through the birth, so it’s vital that you keep up a good diet.
If you’re struggling with mealtimes, eat small amounts often and drink plenty of water. Why not encourage your child to copy your snack choices - getting used to eating dried fruit, sandwiches and cheese instead of biscuits and sweets, will serve him well for the future.

PIZZAS, CHOCOLATE, THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Did you have any last minute cravings during your first labour? Did your partner disappear halfway through to get himself a pizza? Do you wish you had packed a more tasty selection of snacks and drinks to take to the hospital?
Give your food needs some thought as you prepare for the birth.
You will appreciate having your favourite treats when the time comes. And remember to stock up on nutritious, ready-to-cook frozen meals for those last few days when you are too exhausted to cook, as well as for after the birth.
